Description
Since Behringer released its first synth in 2016, owning and exploring the world of vintage-style classic analog, digital, and hybrid digital synths has never been so accessible and affordable. For the adventurous musician who desires to discover the unlimited possibilities only found in fully modular “open-architecture” synthesis, Behringer has you covered with a full range of Euro-rack compatible, analog, modular solutions.
Behringer’s collection of golden-age analog modular synths includes fully outfitted, ready-to-explore synths like the Behringer System-55 and more. For musicians who want to build a unique, personalized modular synth or expand the potential of an existing system, Behringer offers a vast array of individual Voltage-Controlled modules for Eurorack. You’ll find a mix of voltage-controlled, analog oscillators, filters, envelopes, amplifiers, sequencers, triggers (even a few Hybrid and Digital modules), and more.
Meticulously recreated from the inside out, Behringer 921 is based on the VCO found in the groundbreaking 1973 modular classic used by Keith Emerson, Wendy Carlos, Stevie Wonder, and a long list of electronic music pioneers. For players seeking that fat, raspy edge associated with priceless and hard-to-acquire vintage analog hardware, the Behringer 921 VCO delivers stunning authenticity in an ultra-affordable Eurorack-compatible solution.
Just the vintage classic, the Behringer 921’s massive sound-generating Oscillator can be set to generate sine, triangle, saw, inverted saw, square, and inverted square waveforms over a 6-octave range. Players can select octave range and semi-tone monophonic pitch with the frequency controls and even create polyphonic harmony with additional Oscillators. Using the rectangular pulse width control, dial in that extra thick tone that makes vintage analog oscillators so coveted. Dialing in the right amount of clipping for early synth-era grit and growl is at your command with the clamping point dial. There are plenty of options for control and connectivity. With 3 summed frequency control inputs, auxiliary waveform outputs for joining with other modules provide the user with near-endless sound sculpting potential. Additionally, the 921 can be switched into the sub-audio frequency spectrum for use as a function control LFO. Thanks to Behringer’s reborn analog age modules like the 921, there has never been a more exciting or affordable time to explore golden age synthesis.
