Description

SAT 500isasingle channel module in500 format fitted with asaturation circuit, which adds low order harmonics and smoothly evens the signal, all inan amazingly musical and ear friendly way. Itcan significantly increase the RMS level. The sound refers toold tube mixing consoles and tape recorders.

TheLO SAFEoption turns onthe pre-emphasis and de-emphasis circuit, “preventing” the lowest frequencies from distortion. This option isspecifically useful incase ofinstruments with high content oflow frequencies, like bass guitar, kick drum, group ofdrums orthe whole mix.

TheBAND SPLIToption divides the signal band into two frequency ranges. This solution allows tosaturate only the low frequencies, below the division point. High frequencies above the division point are mixed with the saturated signal inan unaltered form. This option isperfect for “thickening” the sound ofinstruments, without the audible saturation ofhigh frequencies. There are three frequencies ofdivision point tochoose from –800Hz, 2kHz and 6kHz.

The depth ofsaturation issmoothly controlled with the DRIVE knob.SAT 500features anindependent control over DRY and WET signal.
